Colourful and precious as the legendary bird from which it takes its name: Artemide's
Fenice (which means “phoenix”) is a suspended lamp which stands in a class of its
own, an object that breaks the typical rules of modern design. The materials and
processing are refined, there's a wide choice of colors and three different measures
for the diffuser: Fenice is unique and versatile at the same time. Its peculiar style is
evident: painted thermoplastic resin ceiling rose, a cobalt blu and gold leaf stem that
ends with a crystal glass sphere and holds the diffuser, made in handblown glass. The
diffuser is available in three different sizes (8, 15 and 20 cm of diameter) and seven
colors: blue, red, yellow (the typical colors of the phoenix), black, white, orange and
green. The will to let the buyer free to decide size and colour is evident: the effect
made by different models of Fenice matched together is surprising.
