Only a fascinating and original lamp could come out from Santiago Calatrava's mind,
just like the big architectural works to which he got us used to. Those sinuous and
dreamy lines, that constantly refer to the world of fantasy and imagionation, can be
found in the peculiar floor light Montjuic, produced by Artemide. Name and shape
are a clear tribute to the Telecommunications Tower made by Calatrava in the
Montjuic neighbourhood, in Barcelona. An elegant set of tense lines, almost moulded
by an imaginary wind, give dynamism to an elegant and solid structure, ideal for
modern and minimalist environments. The beautiful black structure can count on
tapered shapes, thanks to the use of foamed polyurethane; the structure serves also as
a base, thanks to the fork in two elegant “feet”. At the top of the structure there's the
white opaline methacrylate diffuser, mounted on a inclined surface; it reminds of a
flame, or a head of hair, and it has a solemn and noble halo. The dimensions of the
lamp are majestic, too: 190 cm of height, the diffuser is 51 cm long.
