You wouldn't be surprised if you were told that Frisbi was designed last year. But this light disc, modern and elegant, dates back to 1978 and it was designed by Achille
Castiglioni for Flos. Its “evergreen” look is due to very modern elegance and charm, with a minimalist mark and a touch of “industrial” style. The diffuser plate, that
inspired the lamp's name, is without any doubt the most peculiar element of this beautiful suspended lamp: it's a 60cm-diameter plate made of injection-molded opaline polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), pierced in the center to make the direct light beam pass through (the light comes from the overhanging reflector). The reflector, placed just above, it's a beautiful dome-shaped structure made of polished,
nickel-plated and zapon-varnished stamped sheet metal, painted gloss-white inside. The plate is hooked at the stem through three fine steel cables.
