It sounds like the name of a strange kind of robot: Luminator. This Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni's creation, dated 1954, bears all the burden of its years... without
suffering. It's the essence of pure design, an object that prescinds completely from the position and room in which it will be placed. Luminator stands out for its bare
simplicity: three thin galvanized metal legs hold an iron stem with vitrified enamel finish, at the top of which a 200W bulb with reflector provides an indirect light beam.
There's no diffuser, no decoration, and an only color available (anthracite): Luminator is for purists, for the one who love the object way more than its function. The
essential and bare appearance makes Luminator suitable to be “recycled” in a modern key, but thanks to its strong personality it's able to fit almost every kind of room.
