Here is another lamp that could have been designed only in the Seventies, when interior designers' creativity reached the top because some genial personality and the post-war economic boom gave the boost. Papillona, designed by Tobia Scarpa and produced by Flos, looks like a big cocktail glass: “funny” and elegant, it has a strong and unmistakable appearance that prevents from placing it in a botched way in one corner of the room. Tall and thin (192 cm), Papillona stands out for the diffuser/reflector shaped in the form of a flip-down pyramid, just 26 centimeters wide, made in metalized prismatic glass; base and diffuser support are made in painted die-cast aluminium, while the stem is in painted extruded aluminium. Three are the colors among which to choose: silver, black, red. Papillona is equipped with electronic dimmer on the cable to regulate light intensity.
