Simply genius: there's little more to add to describe Parentesi, suspended light designed in 1971 by Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzù and produced by Flos. A ceiling-to-floor steel cable and a steel tube structure (shaped in the form of a parenthesis) to which the head is fixed: this way the lamp can move vertically on the cable, according to the lighting needs. Parentesi is a design object, a furniture, besides being a handy and functional lamp. It is the “noble” version of the modern spotlights, charismatic and original, declined in four colors (white, black, nickel, red) and can be equipped with additional lamps. The head, made of injection-molded black elastomer,can rotate, widening the possibility to regulate the light beam.
