Illuminating device to direct light with adjustable vertical displacement. The lamp design inspired by a sketch of Pius Manzù (died in 1969) where a cylindrical box with a slot for the light flowed at an auction and fixed it with a screw. According to the sketch Manzù Pio might have set a ceiling lamp and ground. Castiglioni in his project replacing the shaft with a wire rope which, diverted, is friction and allows the lamp to stay in position without the need of any lives. Brackets is essentially consists of a stainless steel cable, suspended from the ceiling and held in tension by a base on land, along which runs a tubular holder. The attack of the cable to the ceiling by means of a hook for expansion of steel with metal covers cylindrical hole, while anchoring on the floor is carried by a cylindrical counterweight lead covered with black rubber suspended, the height from ground is regulated by a steel hook tensioner (by boat). A tube shaped steel (painted or chrome), the arched configuration which derives its name of "Parentheses," sustains a rotary joint of rubber, which shall be the holder, including electric wire feeding spot for a 150 watt. Scrolling up and down the tube takes place by simple pressure of the hand, as argued by friction that grazing is created along the tensor, and prevent slipping, once located where you want. At two of the hollow end caps allow the passage of the wire rope. The device thus makes possible an infinite movement of the light beam through the Adjustability of the lamp. Bracket in 1970 was presented to the public in a kit, designed by the Castiglioni in this package were placed all the pieces of the lamp easily fitted, was made with the technique of vacuum forming, and consisted of a white shell to fit perfectly on the basis the lens of the closure. The packaging was easily transportable with side handles cut in the package itself.
