In the beginning there was Taraxacum, designed in 1960 by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos. Revolutionary, over the top and absolutely original, Taraxacum made use of a white powder coated internal steel structure sprayed with
cocoon resin to create the diffuser: the result was sensational and the light was soft and diffused. Almost thirty years later Achille Castiglioni revised Taraxacum's project
and created a new version (three new versions, because the “new” Taraxacum is available in suspended, wall and ceiling versions): Taraxacum 88. This “new edition”
is maybe even more original and bold, since it makes use of a huge number of bulbs to put on its “light explosion”. Taraxacum S – which is available in two “sizes”, with
60 or 120 bulb lights – is a suspended lamp with a structure formed by pressed polished aluminium triangles and fully “covered” with clear Globolux lamps, providing a huge amount of direct and reflected light. In the ceiling and wall versions there are less bulbs but the appearance is however of strong impact.
