Amélie is a ceiling or table light designed by Harry & Camila for Fontana Arte.
Although the style is similar, the two versions differ much in visual impact; the trait
d'union is Amélie's characterizing element, the beautiful diffuser. In both versions is
made of blown transparent glass and has an elegant dome-shape with a characteristic
depression in the middle; this stands out more in the ceiling version because the
diffuser – thanks to a white painted metal mounting – it's the only constituting
element of the lamp. For the ceiling version Amélie is available only in white. The
table version of Amélie is more “frivolous”, although the elegant style is the same:
the merit goes to the three colors available for the diffuser (white opal satin,
transparent light blue or red glass) and to the original tapered structure made of metal
painted in aluminium color that holds the diffuser.
