Making a “simple” ceiling light unique and particular. Fontana Arte's Faretto
Diastema 12V is a perfect example: a lamp that we can almost define as a “service
lamp” that turns into a modern decorative element thanks to a clever design. A 1994
project by Gae Aulenti and Piero Castiglioni, two names that give guarantees for
what concerns elegance and creativity in the lighting products design field. Faretto is
a built-in light for the ceiling, a lamp designed with public and commercial
environments in mind but that can find excellent application also in a domestic
environment. A circular structure made of thermoplastic resin accomodates some
transparent crystal glass cylindric diffusers, that thanks to the material and shape
(organ-pipe) enhance the light source and draw a captivating light pattern on the
ceiling. Thanks to its very compact dimension Faretto can be placed almost
everywhere.
