Refined elegance: here is Floatation, suspended lamp by Ingo Maurer that refers to
Japanese minimalist atmospheres, to bring an oriental touch in your home. Floatation
is an extremely elegant and peculiar lamp: because of materials, of the simple design,
of the delicate appearance. The structure is very simple: a white-painted metal ceiling
rose, a white wire 200 cm long, thin metal wires that hold the three shades which
height is adjustable through a counterweight. The three shades draw the attention:
shaped as big bowls, they're made of Japanese paper with crinkled look, that lends a
very natural and particular look to the lamp. They come in three different diameters
(75 – 100 – 120 cm), can be replaced separately and react to humidity. The touch of
color contrasting with the soft atmosphere created by the shades is given by the red
counterweight, circular and made of iron.
